Cotton & Oak are a new business who focus on sourcing sustainable homeware products.

I used the ampersand in the brand name to tie the logo elements together and created the illustration of an acorn and piece of thread to reflect the name of the brand.

The colour palette is muted and sophisticated so it was important to me that the brand pattern suited this. The oak tree is synonymous with longevity, strength and quality, it’s also often used to symbolise family trees so these subtle associations help to reflect Cotton & Oak’s key brand qualities. The traditional style oak leaf print helps support the communication of this too.

When I create a brand guidelines package, I like to include a selection of mock ups to show how the branding will work across relevant applications. As Cotton & Oak is a homewares store, I created mock ups to show the packaging, store signage and potential own branded products!
